Cradles to Crayons — Saturday, February 4

We’ll spend the morning in their Conshohocken “Giving Factory” sorting and bundling donations of clothing, school supplies, toys and games, and more which they receive and pass on to children of poor and sometimes homeless families. Children of elementary school age and up are welcome to volunteer here when accompanied by parents, so it’s a great way to spend a morning with the kids!

WHY AM I HERE? EXPLORING THE MEANING OF LIFE

On three Sundays in February, the Adult Forum will tackle THE question that all mankind ponders, Why am I here and what is the purpose of life? While we don’t promise you “the one right answer”, we do promise you an interesting study into the question. We will explore popular views and the views of great philosophical thinkers, different cultures, and religious authors. “Why am I here?” is a question that each individual grapples with at some time in their life and their perspective is likely to be different at different stages of their life. Is the meaning of life a question you have asked yourself? Then come to the Adult Forum in the Parish Hall on Sunday mornings February 5th, 12th and 19th from 9 to 10:15 AM.

Bring your neighbor. Bring your Valentine. Bring a friend! Our Sunday Schoolers will be inviting their buddies to church on Sunday, February 12th...and YOU can get in on the fun! Let's have LOTS of visitors to CLC that morning, and share our wonderful church with the whole community!! That morning also, Brian Jenkins will be joining us with approximately 40 homeless guests from Chosen 300 Ministries. They will stay with us for lunch after the 10:30 service--please plan to join them in Parish Hall and extend a warm Christ's Lutheran welcome! Our Chosen 300 cooking team will be in charge of lunch. Chosen 300 Dinner for the Homeless — Monday, February 20

The third Monday of even-numbered months is our time slot for providing meals at the Chosen 300 Spring Garden site.  When closer to the date, times will be posted for food prep sessions and the Monday schedule.

These events, as we kick off the year, make me grateful for all the blessings in my life.  Please plan to give the gift of your time to help those in need. Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex as the date of each event comes closer, or feel free to contact me with questions or to sign up (215-886-0753, tadramsdell@aol.com).

LENTEN WEDNESDAYS COMING SOON!

The season of Lent encourages us to "return to the Lord your God."We begin our journey on Ash Wednesday, February 22, with a 7:30 pm service of communion and imposition of ashes.

Then join the "Passion Players" for five Wednesday evenings (February 29; March 7, 14, 21, and 28) in the Parish Hall..

Each evening begins with our traditional, awesome soup supper at 6:00 pm. (Look for sign-up sheets to volunteer to bring soup or bread.)

Stay for worship! Each week our "passion players" will present the message via interviews with those involved in the passion of Christ: Peter, Pilate, Claudia (Pilate's wife), Judas, Barrabas,

and Mary (the mother of Jesus). Our evenings will end with 10-minute service projects and dessert.

It's a nice way for families to move through Lent toward Easter together - we wrap up each soup supper Wednesday about 8 pm.  See you there!
